Marten

Marten is a family-run Swedish loudspeaker maker founded in 1998 by Leif Mårten Olofsson, whose first speakers were built in the family home in the 1970s. Today Leif works with his brothers Jörgen and Lars on Sweden’s west coast, where the team constructs cabinets, assembles, wires, polishes and finishes every loudspeaker with production kept close to design.

The aim is natural, uncoloured reproduction: low distortion, precise timing and a loudspeaker that recedes behind the performance. Marten’s dual-microphone Gothenburg studio creates a direct feedback loop between live music, recording and playback, while carefully aligned drivers, first-order crossovers and resonance-controlled cabinets carry that thinking across the Coltrane, Mingus, Dexter, Parker and Oscar families.
