Magma New HPS is NAT’s high-power single-ended reference monoblock. Its GM100 direct-heated triode operates in pure Class A with zero global feedback, offering a high-power mode of up to 170 watts and a lower-power setting for more sensitive loudspeakers and reduced heat output.
The HPS architecture adds extensive regulation for the driver and output stages, approximately 500 joules of power-supply storage and custom high-power chokes and output transformers. Alternative output connections provide different damping behaviour, allowing the amplifier to work with loudspeaker loads from low impedances to considerably above 8 ohms.
The hand-built chassis uses a quadruple-thickness aluminium front panel, laboratory-grade terminals, PTFE-insulated input connectors and a safety cage around the output valve. Balanced-input transformer options are available for systems requiring a true balanced interface.
