The AQUILAR is a static, fully laterally balanced pivot tonearm derived from the AXIOM. Its double nano-gimbal bearing, compound titanium-and-carbon arm wand and internally damped construction are designed to guide the cartridge while transferring unwanted energy away from the stylus.
COMPLETE CARTRIDGE ALIGNMENT
SRA and VTA can be adjusted at the cartridge while the arm wand remains horizontal, preserving the tonearm's static settings. The headshell also provides azimuth, offset-angle and overhang adjustment: the cartridge slots provide up to 5 mm of overhang movement, with up to a further 5 mm available at the headshell collar when required.
INDEPENDENT PIVOT LEVELLING
The bearing axis can be levelled independently of the turntable or armboard to remove parasitic side force before cartridge alignment and anti-skating are set. Arm-wand height is adjusted at the VTA tower; one full turn of the top control changes height by precisely 1 mm.
DYNAMIC ANTI-SKATING
Friction-free magnetic anti-skating follows the tonearm's tangential geometry dynamically. It is deliberately continuously adjustable rather than tied to a misleading fixed scale, allowing final setting to be matched to tracking force, stylus profile and the selected recording.
UNI-DIN GEOMETRY
The supplied mirrored alignment template supports the Acoustical Systems UNI-DIN curve. The AQUILAR can also be aligned to Baerwald, Stevenson or Loefgren tangential curves. Standard installation uses a single M5 mounting point; an optional SME slide base and adapter plates are available for existing armboards.
CARTRIDGE COMPATIBILITY
The counterweight and lateral-balance system accommodates cartridges from 5.2 to 30 g. The standard cartridge mounting plate is 5 mm thick; an optional 8 mm plate is available for smaller-bodied cartridges.
