The AXIOM is a 12-inch reference tonearm built to control cartridge motion, resonance and energy transfer as one mechanical system. Its 308 mm effective length is combined with a 256 mm mounting distance, allowing the arm to fit the mounting geometry commonly used by many 9- and 10-inch tonearms.
DOUBLE-GIMBAL BEARING
The full radial-and-axial cardan-shaft bearing uses custom German nano-instrument ball bearings of aerospace grade. The chassis combines AP70XX airframe-grade dural aluminium with stress-relieved stainless steel, while the arm wand places a carbide-hardened titanium outer tube around a carbon-fibre inner structure.
TUNEABLE MOVING MASS
Effective moving mass can be tuned to the cartridge: 22–42 g in the fixed-mounting version or 29–48 g with the SME-bayonet version. The German HD18 tungsten counterweight accepts exchangeable inserts selected to suit cartridge compliance.
INDEPENDENT ALIGNMENT
Three precision set screws allow the AXIOM and its bearing axis to be levelled independently of the turntable plinth. Vertical tracking force and dynamic anti-skating can be adjusted without touching the arm during play, supporting precise fine-tuning without disturbing the cartridge.
CONTROLLED ENERGY TRANSFER
The titanium-and-carbon composite arm wand is liquid damped across its complete inner surface to suppress parasitic resonances. The internal signal path uses pure-silver Litz wire with soft PTFE insulation.
