KATANA is Glanz Tech's next-generation 12-inch flagship tonearm. Its SUS304 arm pipe receives a nitriding treatment, is gently finished and then clear-coated. The treatment hardens both the inner and outer surfaces while retaining the material's useful elasticity, increasing rigidity and sharpening transient response.
Signal path and resonance control
Dense carbon fibre fills the arm pipe around the conductors. Low-resistance silver wires are individually silk-wrapped, gathered into a four-strand bundle, wrapped in silk again and then surrounded by carbon fibre before they enter the arm. This layered construction controls internal resonance while preserving a direct electrical path from cartridge to output.
Flagship counterweight
The five-layer counterweight damper uses 18 rubber-bonded tungsten inserts, two more than the Premium SUS design. Their mass is brought close to the pivot to reduce rotational inertia, support stable groove tracing and accommodate cartridges from 13 to 44 grams.
Bearing and mechanical structure
The main structure is machined from hard SUS304 and assembled with flush surface-contact joints and minimal adhesive. Three large radial bearings and one high-precision thrust bearing form the gimbal support. The inside-force canceller, armrest and lifter are removable, and the supplied 12-gram one-piece SUS304 headshell adds carbon damping, silk-wrapped silver leads and stainless mounting hardware.
